About this event

Tap into your dancing self by first mirroring the movements of another person. The mirroring exercise allows seeing how different we all are. It opens up a gateway to other people. By mirroring other people's movements, we try on their dancing and moving selves, with the aim to understand and be empathetic. The person being mirrored will have their eyes closed. The one acting as the mirror will have their eyes open. This exercise is both fun and deep. A true exploration of self through another.

The event starts with a short introduction to the 5 rhythms concept, followed by setting your expectations for the dance journey. We start exploring our bodies, minds, and all other layers of self with some mirroring exercises, inspired by dance therapy. This smoothly turns into a 1-hour dance journey, using the 5 rhythms. We finish by sharing our experiences. If you don't want to, you don't have to speak in the end. If you want to, we are there to listen.

The 5 rhythms start building up slowly: from feminine to masculine energy, then chaos, afterward switching to lyrical and ending up in stillness. During this hour, you hear music with different moods, chosen to awaken different sensations and movements within you. Whatever you do in that hour - it's all fine. Whatever you need to express through dance, it's just the right thing.

We come together to explore ourselves, being inspired and uplifted by the synergy of other people also moving at the same point. We come together, so we'd be able to share the experience and maybe thus find even deeper layers of ourselves.

Note about the location: close to Kristiine shopping centre (opposite this). The closest bus stops: Taksopark (16, 17, 23, 42 etc.), Endla (trolley bus nr 4). It's a green building inside a courtyard. Car repair services are on the 1st floor. Come upstairs to the 2nd floor, first door on the right. Look for "Burlesque Estonia".
