Monthly Writers Meetup: Catch-up and Writing Practice

Wednesday, May 17, 2023, 2:30 – 4:00 PM UTC

Do you write? Do you plan to write? Come join me for a monthly writers' meetup where we can discuss anything related to writing, creativity, and productivity. Come and chat about your writing aspirations and projects, be it either a blog post, greeting cards, a novel, poems or whatever else. Then enjoy a productive half-hour where we write in silence.

About this event

Let's come together for a few hours of discussions and also some practical creative exercises. First, we'll start off by sharing and discussing the writing projects we currently have in mind. We dig deep into our creativity for fresh ideas. We dig deep into conversations to help each other out and power our writing. Maybe the other person already has the perfect solution for your writing problem. Maybe all you need to do is voice your concern and it eventually gets answered. Maybe. You find out if you dare and ask.

It doesn't matter what you are writing as long as you are fuelled and ready to write. It could be short. It could be long. Fiction. Non-fiction. A whole novel of your life story or a simple article that you are composing in your head. Writing is such a versatile craft that it extends to all capabilities and interests. Come meet us, discuss, and discover new ways how to be creative.

After everyone has had the chance to introduce their current writing goals and get the needed support, we dive deep into some actual writing. The timer will be set for 30 minutes. Everyone will work on their own things, as needed. The synergy of just being in the same room and seeing others write is powerful. Don't believe it? Well, it's time to experience this for yourself!

Once the countdown ends, we put our pens down or laptops away and discuss the process. How did it feel to write? How far did you get? What do you need help with? This is where accountability pacts are formed and promises made. Promises to write until we meet for the next time!

About me: my professional background is in translation and different forms of writing. I have been writing stories since I was 9. I took it as far as acquiring an MA in Creative Writing and have written all kinds of stories, self-published on Amazon, participated in NaNoWriMo writing challenges, written several books (not all of them yet published) on creative writing, recorded my own writing podcast, and listened to hundreds of hours of writing podcasts. Believe me, I have thought a lot about writing and would be happy to share my insights with you! I also truly believe that you have a new perspective to offer. Do come and share.
