Have you always wanted to write a novel? This November, it's your chance to really get to it! Every novel starts with the manuscript, the first rough draft. This is exactly what you could create in the 30 days of November, National Novel Writing Month, better known as NaNoWriMo. The goal is to write 50K words which translate into an average of 1,667 words per day. It is doable. The quality is not of the utmost importance. During this period, the main goal is just to write. To keep going, no matter what. To instill the habit of writing within you. Even if you don't end up with a manuscript you'd like to publish, this journey is worth it. You could use this writing practice as a form of therapy and empty yourself by simply getting everything on paper (or Word document). Writing is like training: you improve if you actually do it. What shall we do at the event? We'll explore our writing motivation and the stories within us. With some guiding exercises, you'll find out what the story is that you'd like to start during that month (it can change in the process of writing!). We'll also discuss building the writing habit and creating a proper environment for this. We might even organise some writing dates online: get together, turn the cameras on, and simply write. I'll share my experience of doing this from last year. Yes, in 2021, I wrote 50K words, the last 9K even on the very last day, frantically typing away like a crazy person. 50K words in 30 days. A novel. Writing therapy for yourself. This could be you.
